Core Areas

The goals of the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club are:

To provide kids and teens opportunities outside of school and home that promote their healthy development, academic success and career readiness
To deliver a consistent, high=quality Club experience to produce a measurable, sustained difference in the lives of kids and teens
To create a pathway out of poverty for disadvantaged youth

We aim to achieve these goals by ensuring that all children who visit the club receive programs focused on our six core areas: education & career, health & life skills, character & leadership, arts, sports & fitness, and morality & values.

Our programming provides an opportunity for kids to harness their skills, while opening their minds to new ideas.

Education & Career
Programs in Education and Career Development enable youth to strengthen educational disciplines, critical thinking to daily occurrences, and embrace technology to achieve across a variety of career fields.
Health & Life Skills
Programs in Health and Life Skills support young people’s ability to engage in positive behaviors that nurture personal well-being, align with goal setting, and enable them to live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
Character & Leadership
Character & leadership development programs empower youth to support and influence their Club and community, develop respect and appreciation for others, foster a strong self esteem and participate in the democratic process.
Morality & Values
Morality & values programs provide youth with the opportunity to learn about God and how faith plays a role in everyday life.
Sports & Fitness
Programs in sports and fitness develop positive fitness knowledge and experience, stress management skills, social skills and positive recreational time for youth.
Arts
Arts programs allow youth to harness their creativity through multi-platform use and knowledge including visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
